On Saturday morning a girl came to desk and asked me how to spell "Torture". She said she wanted to look up something on torture on Internet. Is it possible to find what you need if you don't know how to spell it?

One of the things about Google is that it does try to second guess what you are looking for when you do a search and gives you the option of "did you mean..." and either a link to an alternative search based on alternative spelling or sometimes just shows you the alternative with the option to see results for the actual search query.
This seems to be a feture which would be good to have in library catalogues too.
Of course you still need to be close enough to the correct spelling for this to work and not just bring up totally irrelevant hits.
